ASUS has just launched the latest entry to its VivoBook series – the VivoBook S14/S15. The numbers in the name signifies the size of the screen – 14 and 15.6-inches respectively. This thin ultrabook packs alot in its compact frame, as per ASUS’s norm.
The Intel Core i5-8265U processor in the VivoBook S15 runs at 1.6GHz which can boosts up to 3.9GHz when needed while the Intel Core i7-8565U in the VivoBook S14 runs at 1.8GHz, with a boost up to 4.6GHz. Both models comes with a Full HD screen (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 512GB SSD on board. The S14 comes with 8GB of RAM (which we presume is soldered) while the S15 comes with 4GB installed, and can accept up to 12GB of RAM (4+8GB).
Graphics for the S15 is handled by the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 – not a screamer but it does the job. The S14 makes do with Intel’s UHD 620 IGP. Both machines comes with a plethora of ports including USB Type C (USB 3.1 Gen 1 for the S15 and Gen 2 for the S14), HDMI and SD Card reader among others.

Both machines comes with fast chargers which promises the charge the batteries to 60% in less than one hour, a boon for road warriors. Interestingly enough, the hinge of the S14/S15 raises up the notebook by a few millimetres, and angles the keyboard upwards of 3.5 degrees – giving both good airflow and comfortable typing experience.
ASUS Malaysia is pricing the VivoBook S14 at RM3899 while the VivoBook S15 is priced at RM3199.
